Frequently Asked Questions about Simon Hawkins

Here is a selection of frequently asked questions about my wedding photography. Please CONTACT ME if you have any other questions of require any further information.

How much does it cost?

I operate a pricing structure to ensure that my wedding photography is available and affordable to a variety of clients. Prices start from £995 which guarantees you 7 hours coverage, this is usually enough time to cover from the bride putting on her wedding dress to the first dance, but how you decide to deploy me is entirely up to you.

You are based in Kent, are you willing to travel?

I am more than happy to travel for you, in fact I’d even happily get on an aeroplane! However I would ask that you be realistic, if you know that you want me there at 8am and your wedding is a four hour drive away then you might want to book me a hotel.

How many photos can we expect?

A lot. Enough. Plenty. There are many ways I could answer this question. As a ball park figure an average wedding will allow for around 400 pictures. What I can assure you is that every image you are provided with will be a small part of a much larger fabulous collection of your memories.

Will you take some formal pictures too?

As you can see from the website my work is based around capturing the real day, but I do understand that your mum and nan may want a photo for the mantelpiece. If that is the case I am happy if you provide me with a small list before the day and I will make sure I cover those off for you.

Will we get our images in colour and black and white?

The answer is you will get your photos in colour and black and white, usually its around a 60/40 split, but every wedding is different, a bright sunny seaside wedding would usually call for more colour. Documentary photography lends itself to images being produced in black and white, as it gives a timeless classic edge, but you’re the client so just let me know what your requirements are.

Will you edit the images?

Yes. I shoot with high end equipment and edit all the images with professional software before they come to you. I do not change or alter the images. I will not move people or objects but I will, for example, smooth a complexion on a close up portrait.

What happens after the wedding?

Once the day is over all you will have are the memories and the photographs that I have taken for you. Believe me when I say these images are just as important to me as they are to you. Because of this it may take me around 6 weeks to ensure they are perfect, often quicker, but what I can assure you is that not only will I communicate with you to let you know how I’m getting on but it will be well worth the wait.

How do we book?

Call or email me at any time. First of all I will need to check availability for you. I require a signed and completed wedding agreement and a non refundable booking fee of £300. I cannot hold a date for you without a signed agreement and deposit. The remaining balance can be paid 30 days before your wedding date by bank transfer or cash.

Anything else we should know?

Your images will be made available to you in an online gallery which you may choose to share with family and friends as you please. There are various print options available such as albums and heirloom boxes and I will be happy to discuss those with you.

Also included in your package is one fine art print. This is my gift to you. This can be any image of your choice from your wedding collection. Please ask me for further details, options regarding this can be discussed and confirmed when you are provided with your images.
